Vision On

Chris, David, Seif and Karolin were over in Brussels for the Future Mobility Now Conference creating visuals for animations, presentations, live capture and post event documentation. Whew. If that wasn’t enough we thought it might be good to push ourselves even further and try a new way to capture and present scribing which we’re tentatively [...]
Get Onna My Cloud

Here are some recent illustrations done at a conference on the subject of The Cloud. You’re already using it and you’ll be using a lot more soon.
Deep Deep Down

Here’s a whiteboard drawing I quickly turned into an illustration at a recent conference. You can really run these things around fast with Photoshop.
Nice One

Here are a few vignettes from a recent job I did for an energy company, via a consulting client. The number 1 had particular significance to their project and fortunately I also found it formed the basis of an adaptable, expressive little character that was very quick and easy to draw. I’ve been experimenting with [...]
Live Illustration

Here’s a few images from a recent scribing session. I guess this is the opposite of a mind-mapping approach. This is trying to catch headlines and turn them into a series of single images. These were all done in a day at a workshop. Then they were given a splash of colour and the group [...]
To Boldly Go…

I recently scribed a fun away day for a government organisation, appealing to the Trekkies in the group by capturing the department’s aspirations and ideals within a Starship Enterprise theme. I’m not a huge Star Trek fan myself, and a few basic inaccuracies were pointed out to me at the time, so please don’t email [...]
Mindmapping

Again, can’t go into content – so I’ve had to shrink and blur some of the image – but hopefully you can see the approach. This is a more traditional mindmap which tries to link up all of the content so it can deliver the content and how it interconnects in a really efficient fashion. [...]
Brainstorming

This is some recent work to capture brainstorming session. Can’t really say too much about the content but you can see that it forms a nice landscape. Some of the information I took a bit of time to distill as the participants were engaged in rounds of work in smaller teams. For some of the [...]
Journey

I recently captured the talk of a survivor of the 7/7 terrorist attack, which was inspiring. Afterwards I shot the illustration and recreated it, with a bit more density, on the same whiteboards. Here’s an excerpt.
Illustration

Here are some images created on an event, capturing important issues, to be used as a support for text in the summary document. It’s a nice angle to approach the content at. Getting into the detail is interesting but sometimes it’s good to just create something a bit whimsical and oblique. This approach works well [...]
Just for Kicks

Here are the results of my work at the Stand Up, Speak Up conference last month at Manchester United’s Old Trafford. The event was held to discuss and celebrate innovative projects across Europe that had used the power and universal appeal of football to bridge racial divides and help integrate communities… also got to hang [...]
Mind-mapping for mobiles

James and I worked at Tate Modern last autumn creating these pieces of scribing for Audiotours to iPhones, a workshop and conference for the museums and galleries community. We captured these at the workshop session, a productive day prior to the main event involving around 25 people working at the busy and fast-changing intersection of [...]
Wilson’s Wacom Wonderland

Anglo American held an event where some participants could not physically attend but were joining via conference call from South Africa. I captured the conversation by drawing directly into my computer on a wacom tablet and via a little bit of electric trickery the images were instantly transmitted to a secure url that could be [...]
Stay on the leader

Here is a bit of scribing I did for the Department of Transport. The participants split up into four groups and acted out various scenarios based on different leadership styles. It was a fun little workshop that everyone seemed to enjoy so I captured the event as four little comic panels that contain the content, the leadership style and the scenario that was acted out.
