Last year, D&AD teamed up with ArjoWiggins Creative Papers to launch the Blank Sheet Project in which creative heroes, including Neville Brody and Sir John Hegarty, shared their approach to a blank sheet of paper. Clearly, that theme wasn’t taken absolutely literally, but the blank sheet stood for the beginning of a new creative journey, and allowed them to explain the thoughts and principles that guide them when embarking on a fresh enterprise.
Happily, this year D&AD and ArjoWiggins chose to extend the project, giving a wider set of prominent creatives the chance to share the philosophies that drive their work artistically, practically and ethically. ‘One Minute to Leave Your Mark’ gives these inspiring people roughly a minute to share their insights. And the best thing about it is that sponsors Arjo Wiggins gave us a huge pile of their beautiful paper from which to make animations of five of the interviews. We’ve animated interviews with illustrator Mr Bingo, designers Kate Moross and Wayne Hemingway and the RSA’s co-directors of design, Sophie Thomas and Nat Hunter.
Here are the animations that have been launched so far, more to follow:
